how do i keep my snowboard gloves dry?

i snowboard and i have wrecked a bunch of gloves because of them getting pinched in the bindings which causes them to rip, and the snow just gets in. i don’t want to spend more than 60$$ on new ones, and was wondering if there is anything i can do to make them more waterproof, like a spray or something???

Also, i heard that mittens keep you warmer, do they work good for snowboarding or do you kinda need the fingers? i really hope someone can help. thanks in advance!

Umm I’ve heard of stuff like Nix Wax and Tech Wash to re waterproof pants and items like that, I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work for gloves. As for mittens I use them and yes generally they do keep your hands warmer since all your digits are in contact with each other and are able to keep warmer with body heat, I use mittens and I’ve never had a problem with strapping up.

The obvious answer would be to not get your gloves pinched in your bindings. I guess you could sew the rips up good. There’s waterproof spray you can buy, too. And, yes, you can snowboard in mittens. Wear them around the store for a while and see if you like the feel of mittens better. They keep you warmer, but you have to get used to your fingers being stuck in mittens and not independent from each other.

You could use duct tape. I’m not kidding. Oh and if you use mittens then you can use fingerless mittens so you can put on your bindings and still be warm. And if the mittens are not fingerless you could just cut the fingers off.
