Does anyone have a snowboard setup similar to this?

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

Ok. So this’ll be my first year snowboarding. I mean, I’ve done it a handful of times before, using my friend’s stuff. Long story short, my mom found a snowboard at a garage sale over the summer and made me get out of the car and look at it. I got it for $40, the board, boots, bindings, and a bag. The people selling it said it belonged to their neighbor’s son who was in college and they really didn’t know much about it. It doesn’t look like it’s been used more than a few times. Anyway, the board says it’s a Burton Special 53, the bindings say Burton Freestyle on the back, and the boots say Burton Glide on the inside. The boots are men’s, which leads me to believe the whole setup is… I reset the bindings, they were set up regular (left foot forward) and duck stance. Now they’re goofy with the front foot angled at 15 and the back foot at 0. So basically, I think what I’m asking is, does anyone have a board or bindings similar to this, and how does it work for you?
Oh, and I’ve been skiing for 7 years, I’m not totally new to the slopes.
@I ride Burton <3, standing up it comes to just under my nose, boots are 7 mens which is supposed to be like an 8.5 womens, which is my size, and they fit good. The bindings- as far as I know, they work… the straps all work and I didn’t have any issues re-angling them.

And when I got it I was thinking, if I don’t end up using it, I can probably get more than I paid for it if I tried to sell it. But I’m definetly intending to use it. I just have to wait about a month.

Would you recommend buying this snowboard jacket and pants?

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Ok i know it’s in the off-season but that’s why i’m buying the stuff now because most of it is on sale.

The reason why i’m asking this is because I went on Burton’s website and read a review on the pants; the person gave them one star out of five. but i really want the pair because they’re exactly what i wanted and not too pricey. the link to them is below.

if you would to recommend something else, i can’t really pay for anything over $250
