Snowboards sale during the year?

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

What’s up snowboard enthusiasts,
I’m not the richest guy on Earth, and thats why it makes sense for me to know when are the biggest snowboard sales during the year. I know for sure that at the end of the season (now) boards online sell for 50% off. Too bad I’m low on cash now. But what about the summer or fall? Will they have some nice discounts right before the season starts? And when is the official beginning of the season?
Also, will the new 2009/2010 boards will be a part of those discounted boards?

Thanks to everyone for helping me out.

Roxy Snowboards Carves Out A Niche

You might not have heard of Roxy snowboards unless you are a girl. And that occurs quite uncommonly in snowboard companies. For a variety of snowboards that are specially intended for the fairer sex you may want to check out roxy snowboards, they are an entire line dedicated to the ladies. Not all companies in the industry have complete lines dedicated to women. Rome, Burton, K2, all these big companies offer women’s boards. Roxy positions itself aside by providing nothing else. But does this rare specialization mean a legit go-to company for girls or is it just an expensive trick trying to pull in buyers with cutesy graphics?

In order to figure that out, you’ll have to delve into the history of Roxy a bit. Roxy is a Quiksilver fashion line, and it has become a top sports clothing brand. Two years post its launch, Roxy began developing gear for snow sports. During the 2003 season, Roxy started making snowboards with styles similar to their clothes. Lots of people in this industry were astonished when a corporation devoted itself to one sex, however, both the style and manufacturing have found them enough consumers to stay in business. With their market position strong, now the company’s offerings include a large selection of entry boards, as well as the boards pros shred on.

However, initially returning to that manufacturing thing. Roxy isn’t a cheap brand churned out by the store-load. They are made by Mervin Manufacturing, the same guys who give us some of the unbelievable technology behind hyper-popular boards like the Lib Tech Banana and top-end GNU boards. The Roxy snowboard produced by Mervin is being included along with all the other boards produced by this company to add Magne Traction technology to it. Obviously, Mervin Manufacturing has been able to do this as a result of being acquired by Quiksilver, in a deal made in the 1990’s.

Roxy is also helped by the ability of their pro riders. Torah Bright is the foremost name you might be familiar with. Her latest Bright Series is only one of the segments that Roxy is expanding into. With Torah there are riders Sarah Burke, who has won the X-Games Gold Medal twice and Kjersti Buaas, an Olympic snowboard participant. These ladies have conquered parks that would leave most guys on their backs.

Whether or not you are still uncertain if Roxy is legitimate, you have to know that the girls on the Roxy team surely are. And having great pros is a great boon to the company since the feedback they provide is instrumental in improving the line. However the bottom line with any kind of snowboards, is that the person who rides is the one who decides if the board is good. You could argue that pretty much any snowboard manufacturer can be a good one, simply by fitting their target audience. Roxy’s niche is the lady boarder searching a class board, maybe a board that has attractive graphics. If you like the look, you have to ride one. There is only one single method of confirming the board is functioning correctly for you. A Roxy snowboard is similar to any other snowboard, you could fall off it or you could get attracted to it. At times, its both.

No matter how well you try to take care of your snowboard jacket, you’re pretty much certain that it is going to end up dirty. You can pick up all kinds of dirty spots in the early or late season when the mud is still peeking through. Snowboarding Helmets and Brain Wellbeing

For lots of reasons, safety and style have on no account really been able to get along. Check out any terrain park in the United States and you most likely aren’t going to see lots of snowboarders with helmets. It certainly isn’t a cash issue since a good bit of these snowboarders are rocking the latest park board and listening to an mp3 player that sells for just as much, but they didn’t spend $50 to shield their head. And the numbers back up what you would see. This figure …

Learn To Ride Snowboards And Enjoy The Ultimate Thrill On The Slopes

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Most people pursue a sport because they feel it represents their spirit and personality; it brings them joy, freedom and excitement. Snowboarding is one of those sports that will give you wings each time you ride a snowboard.

Where It All Started

Surfing is at the roots of snowboarding and most of those that ride snowboards surf as well as windsurf. All three sports give you one and the same feeling of freedom and thrill at the same time. Snowboarding is a fairly new game, which has quickly caught on with folks of every age group and gender.

Riding snowboards may look easy, but the truth is it requires a great deal of practice and determination in order to achieve some of the stunts you see on television or real life slopes. However, all the time and effort you can afford to put into learning how to ride a snowboard is well worth it in the end.

Get Started

To get started, you will need the right gear, which will keep you safe; remember, while surfing has the water beneath when you fall the snow only offers the solid ground so, you don’t want to miss any of the essential equipment.

The helmet for your head’s protection would be my first suggestion and don’t get influenced by anyone out there who rides snowboards without them; it may look good not to wear a helmet but, if you fall, you will be glad you wore one.

Padding for your knees, hips and elbows are next on the list; since you don’t have the usual ski sticks, those are the areas you will be using to break your falls and therefore they need extra protection.

Glasses to cut the glare of the snow and gloves for your hands would make your snowboarding equipment complete. You don’t need to purchase any of the above equipment as you can rent it all at the available store in any snowboarding resort.

Learn From An Expert

If you are a beginner and have never practiced surfing before you ride snowboards, you will need a few lessons from a qualified instructor. The reason behind this is that the first moves you are going to learn will stay with you forever, therefore, get them right the first time.

Once you get the hang of it, I warn you, it is addictive, you will never have enough. Snowboarding is an exciting sport that allows you to express yourself for who you are, no boundaries, rules or regulations, just you, the snowboard and nature.

Diverse Kinds of Snowboards

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

There are 3 diverse forms of snowboards obtainable in the marketplace at present and they are the following: Free of charge trip or All Mountain Board, Freestyle an Alpine or Carving snowboards. We are the greatest source of info on Snowboard Things.http://www.SnowboardThings.com

Totally free experience

Free of charge journey board is the well-liked among the 3 kinds of boards.
You may enjoy catching air, carving and essentially the entire riding functions with this sort of board.
These boards are made with directional form and are intended to be carried mainly in 1 track.
Having a directional form, indicates that tips of boards are not similar from its end. In free rides, the end is typically a lot more slim, shorter and flat compared to the tilt of the snowboard.
Because of this, the stand on free of charge experience snowboard is generally balances headed for the back of the snowboard. This kind of snowboard is broader, steadier and more tolerant to trip. Yet, freestyle boards have restricted edge hold and permanence and are they are not suitable for carving twists or traveling rapid.

Identical tip boards possess a centered stand with tilt and finish that are true copies of each one particular, which make them proportioned in form.
Both tails of freestyle boards have a spade and with double tip design that makes it simpler for starters to trip backward and forward.
Directional-twin boards are the exact same to the usual twin tilt snowboard; only, the tail is harder than the snout.

Alpine, Carving and Race Board

Carving boards have narrow space in comparison to freestyle and also free ride snowboards. Their elongated, narrow and difficult construct are configured in favor of higher paces and cleaner fixed turns. Since of this, carving snowboards permit rapid edge turns, fast, greater border-holding power to the solid snow and fine stability for velocity.

Carving boards are also known as alpine boards, the boards will nearly appear like a blown up ski. They were developed in both balanced and unbalanced styles and with a tendency to have only a spade in the nose. Come visit us right here for more info on Snowboard Pants. Are Snowboards For Girls Different Than Those For Boys?

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Snowboarding is the ultimate thrill you can achieve on the slopes; surfers, windsurfers and skaters are guilty to have inspired this sport and everyone else seems to be following the example. While there are no restriction on who can practice snowboarding, there are some differences between snowboards for girls and those that are for boys.

The Differences In The Snowboards For Girls And Boys

The difference is not in the practice of the sport itself but only in the snowboard and that is the size of the snowboard, which is smaller in the case of the one for girls. There is no restriction in the case that a girl wishes to use a boy’s snowboard however, it is suggested girls use snowboards for girls for the following reasons: the size and the weight.

While some girls are able to handle a heavier, larger snowboard, other girls who are medium height and weight find it difficult; therefore the snowboard for girls is lighter and considerably smaller.

Like surfing, snowboarding is a sport that is based on nature and when you are on a slope, flying through the winds on the tip of the snow, any extra weight or size can bring you down. The snowboard, like the surfing board, becomes one with the rider and, therefore, it needs to be proportionate with the same.

Finding The Right Snowboard For You

If you are shopping for your first snowboard, you may want to first weigh yourself and ensure you know your height before you go to the store to buy or rent, for these are the two criteria by which you should consider purchasing your snowboard.

Try and rent a snowboard at first to see the difference between snowboards for girls and boys as well as to get a grip of the sport. Only after that, you might be ready to purchase your first snowboard.

Other Essential Snowboarding Equipment

In order to make snowboarding a safe sport you will need to ensure you have the right equipment, as well, besides the snowboard itself and that is: the helmet which will protect your head in case of a fall, padding for your knees, hips and well as elbows as those are the areas most prone to getting hurt in case you may fall, the snowboarding suit, which is similar to the skiing suit and the gloves to protect your hands.

Additional to the above mentioned items, you will need glasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the snow as well as the wind blowing directly in your eyes.

Enjoy a unique sport, which will bring you excitement and fun.
